Markos's Insider Tips
- Start Day 2 at Laitlum Canyon before 7 AM — the mist in the gorge is absolutely magical and you'll beat the crowds.
- Elephant Falls is best visited on a weekday morning. Weekends get crowded by 11 AM.
- For Ward's Lake boating, go on a weekday — shorter queues and more peaceful.
- The Mawphlang Sacred Forest requires a local guide by law. I'll arrange this for you.
- Carry light rain gear even in October — Meghalaya can surprise you with a quick shower.
- Police Bazar evening is the best time to try local street food — Jadoh, Doh Khlieh, and Pukhlein.
