My Story
Born in Meghalaya. Living to Share It.
I'm Bah Markos, born and raised in Shillong, Meghalaya. I grew up exploring these hills, swimming in these rivers, and listening to the stories of my elders about the sacred forests and living root bridges.
Over 10 years ago, I started taking tourists around Meghalaya — first as a taxi driver, then as a guide, and eventually as a homestay host. I realized that what travelers really want is not just transportation — they want connection. They want to understand the place they're visiting.
That's what I offer. When you travel with me, I'll tell you why the Mawphlang Sacred Forest is sacred. I'll explain the matrilineal Khasi culture. I'll take you to the waterfall that's not on any tourist map. I'll introduce you to the family that makes the best Jadoh in Cherrapunji.
